Failed to connect Amazon Fire stick to TP-Link Wi-Fi Router

If your Amazon fire stick fails to connect TP-Link wireless networks, no worries, this article will introduce what we should do if you meet this kind of problem.

Case 1: Unable to detect TP-Link SSID

1). Verify whether fire stick can scan any other wireless networks or not. Please Contact Amazon support if fire stick cannot scan any wireless networks at all.

2). Choose join other network or rescan to scan again.

3). Reboot or reset fire stick.

4). Change wireless channel of TP-Link wireless networks by referring to Changing Channel and Channel Width on a TP-Link Router (new logo).

Case 2. Unable to connect wireless network

1). Disable Smart Connect if TP-Link Wi-Fi router has enabled it. Then set different Wi-Fi names for 2.4GHz and 5GHz.

2). Change wireless channel of TP-Link wireless networks by referring to Changing Channel and Channel Width on a TP-Link Router (new logo).

3). Modify the wireless encryption method WEP to WPA/WPA2, or temporarily cancel the encryption. You may refer to How to configure basic wireless settings of TP-Link 11AC router (new logo)?

Note: according to many online feedbacks, there has some problems about changing WEP to WPA/WPA2 encryption solves the problem of dropping connection frequently.

4). Make sure there is no special settings, like MAC Filtering enabled on your TP-Link router.

5). Check the presence of special characters in the wireless password.
